Looking for day-camp options while your kids are off school on Thursday, October 2, for Yom Kippur? Consider the Guggenheim Day Camp, ColorPop Workshop, The Craft Studio, Nory, FastBreak, Asphalt Green, for just a few ideas!
The Infatuation is hosting EEEEEATSCON, Saturday, October 4, and Sunday, October 5, and it looks like a delicious time. Held at Pier 76, the event features bites from more than 25 of the city’s hottest restaurants. It’s family-friendly, with free admission for children under six.
I LOVE Diller-Quaile’s Rug Concerts, and tickets are on sale now. On Saturday, October 4, there are two showings at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., themed Dances Around the World. These 45-minute concerts welcome children six and under (and their families) to explore music interactively, with professional musicians guiding singing, movement, and play. Tickets are $35 per person.
There are wonderful shows happening at 92NY this fall for young theater lovers. Red Riding Hood is running through October 12. Junie B. Jones the Musical takes the stage September 27 through October 26, following the hilarious adventures of the beloved first-grader. And don’t miss Alice in Wonderland, running October 25 through November 9, a whimsical journey through the fantastical world of Wonderland.
MoMA Family Day: Saturday, October 4, 10:30 a.m.–5 p.m., families can enjoy hands-on art, performances, readings, and creative play (recommended ages 4+). Free with RSVP; MoMA admission included.
Big Apple Circus Tickets are on sale now for performances at Lincoln Center from November 7 through January 4. This year’s new one-ring spectacular will feature aerial feats, comedy, balancing acts, and the famous Olate family performing dogs.
I LOVE this Fall Foliage tracker for Central Park—as the weather cools, I’ll be referencing it to follow the park’s gorgeous changing colors.
My new favorite corner on the UES: 69th and Madison. In addition to Khaite, Toteme, and the Minnow pop-up (closing in December) there’s newly opened Kujten (from Paris)—their cashmere bandanas are fabulous! Birley Bakery (from the Maxime’s team) is the highlight; the café is incredible, and it doubles as a stunning chocolate shop perfect for gifts.
Here are some of my kids’ favorite books right now (that I also don’t mind reading): Earl & Worm, Dandelion, Norman the Doorman, The Tiger Who Came to Tea, Elephant Island
Annabelle Moehlmann, mother of two girls, and an interior designer with an impeccable eye (check out her absolutely gorgeous NYC apartment in Architectural Digest). Before starting her interior design firm, Annabelle created Land of Belle and Land of Bébé, thoughtfully curated destinations for homeware and children’s clothing and gifts. Here, she shares her favorite places to eat, shop, decorate, and experience New York City like a true insider.
Mezzaluna: “We love taking our girls here. Don’t miss the pollanca salad, bufalina pizza and their tiramisu, forever!”
Ludivine and Attersee: “The best places in my neighborhood for a little wardrobe refresh.”
Staley Wise: “There are few things I love more than photography and it’s wonderful to spend time looking at their incredible collection of prints. My husband and I often find birthday and Christmas presents for each other here.”
Doyle: “They put on so many great and varied auctions and it’s always fun to stop by and peruse what’s on.”
NY Botanical Garden + Zero Otto Nove: “One of my girls favorite ways to spend the morning is a trip to the gardens (there’s always something exciting to do there, catch the Van Gogh before it ends Oct. 26th) followed by a meal nearby at Zero Otto Nove, don’t miss their insanely delicious Nutella pizza for dessert.”
Children’s Shopping (often hard to find in store so I go online), here are my favorites: “Willkies, Baboushkini, Il Porticciolo and La Coqueta for clothing. Gooselings for beautiful linens and toddler duvets that make a wonderful baby gift.”
Home shopping top picks: “Cabana, Carolina Irving and Daughters, Levant Shop, Malaika Linens, Porta, and D’Ascoli”
