A day-trip to Shelter Island this weekend. It’s Open Studio Weekend: Saturday, August 16, and Sunday, August 17, 12-5 p.m. Head to Shell Beach, play mini golf at Whale’s Tale and explore (hike!) Mashomack Nature Preserve. My favorite places to eat: The Pridwin, Léon 1909, or Sunset Beach. And! If you’re there on Saturday, there’s a free kayaking exploration of Bass Creek (for children 10+)
Thinking about hosting a Labor Day Clam Bake or just want to pop into a great seafood market? I’d recommend CLAMMAN (Southampton), The Seafood Shop (Wainscott) or Stuart’s Seafood Market (Amagansett)
We’ve been making our own ice cream this summer and loving it. It’s a lot easier—and far more rewarding—than expected. Here is the ice cream maker I like, but people rave about this one, I love this book for recipes, and get these to store it all
How clever and chic is this backgammon towel? Perfect for upcoming lazy beach days
Farm stands for fabulous produce or a great farm experience with the kids: My top farm recommendations
Outdoor movie nights, farmers markets, beach yoga and more: Check out all recurring events here
